The program, organized in collaboration with Africa Without Borders and Merhaba Derneği, offers a comprehensive training focused on African history. It aims to provide a global analysis of the continent’s historical, cultural, and political dimensions, with a focus on African empires, resistance to colonialism, independence movements, and the formation of modern states. The program also seeks to develop participants’ analytical skills, understanding of the contemporary world, and critical thinking. Program Content The program follows a chronological and thematic approach. It begins with the study of major African empires and their resistance to colonization, through examples such as the Battle of Adwa in 1896, the resistance led by Samory Touré in West Africa, and the Zulu resistance in South Africa. It then continues with an analysis of independence movements, particularly after World War II. Ghana’s independence in 1957 is presented as a major turning point, followed by a comparative study of struggles in Ghana, Algeria, and Kenya. The program also addresses the development of the idea of African unity, ideological differences between the Monrovia and Casablanca blocs, and the creation of the Organization of African Unity in 1963, as well as support for still-colonized countries. Another important section focuses on the apartheid regime in South Africa, highlighting the struggle led by Nelson Mandela and the role of African and international support in ending this system. Finally, the program examines the transformation of the Organization of African Unity into the African Union in the early 2000s, emphasizing continental integration and cooperation. Interactive Activities At the end of the training, interactive activities will be organized, including a Kahoot
