Youth Meeting – Picnic Edition Date: March 22, 2026 Place: Atakoy youth center, Istanbul/Turkiye Participation: 60 The youth program, organized on March 22, 2026 in Istanbul, constituted a exchange and conviviality activity aimed at promoting dialogue and sharing of experiences between participants. The meeting began with a speech by the president of the organizing committee, Ms. Zoenabou Simporé, followed by that of the president of Africa Without Borders, Mr. Moussa Hissein Moussa. Exchange session The program continued with a circle of expression around the main theme: “ African festivals: between tradition and modernity”. After an introduction presenting the context and issues of the theme, these questions were asked to the young participants, who actively contributed to the discussions. The exchange session, moderated by Said Fofana, allowed young participants to express themselves freely on the theme “African festivals: between tradition and modernity”. Discussions focused on the role of festivals in transmitting traditions and cultural values ​​to younger generations, strengthening cultural identity and intergenerational communication. Participants also discussed the impact of modernization and technology on these events, while emphasizing the importance of preserving their authenticity and sustainability. Concrete examples, such as FESPACO, the Homowo festival in Ghana or the Dary festival in Chad, have illustrated how festivals can adapt to contemporary realities while remaining vectors of education, social cohesion and cultural enhancement.
