On January 26, 2026, Africa Without Borders (AWB) held an official meeting with Marmara University, at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus, as part of the preparation for the Africa Forum scheduled for May 20-22, 2026. At the end of this strategic meeting, AWB was confirmed as an official partner of the Forum, marking a significant step forward in strengthening academic and institutional relations between the two structures. This meeting goes beyond the simple organizational framework of an event. It constitutes a structuring step in the process of institutionalization of AWB, by consolidating its academic roots and expanding its intellectual cooperation network. Through this official partnership, the organization strengthens its academic legitimacy and affirms its capacity to be part of sustainable, measurable and strategic collaborative dynamics. A meeting structured around common academic objectives Firstly, Prof. Ali Arı, Head of the Department of Political Sciences and Public Administration, presented the academic approach of the establishment, its work in relation to African studies as well as its expectations regarding the Africa Forum 2026. The head of the Political Science and Crisis Management department then presented the general framework of the Forum, its objectives and its structure. The event will be organized over three days: the first two days will be devoted to academic work and thematic sessions, while the third day will integrate cultural and social activities.
