The Great African Gathering 2 (BAB2)

Africa Without Borders (AWB) organized the second edition of the Great African Gathering (BAB2), a major event dedicated to unity, solidarity and collective work among Africans living in Türkiye. This major activity was carried out in collaboration with more than twenty African associations and platforms active in Türkiye, testifying to a strong and inclusive pan-African dynamic. The Great African Gathering 2 (BAB2) was intended to be a unifying framework bringing together students, researchers, associative actors, community leaders as well as members of the African diaspora. The central objective of this meeting was to bring together Africans beyond national origins, to strengthen intercommunity solidarity and to create solid bases for sustainable and structured cooperation. The activity was marked by the organization of high-level thematic panels on economic and political integration in Africa. These panels made it possible to address the major issues linked to the unity of the continent, regional cooperation mechanisms, African mobility, as well as the political and institutional challenges hindering African integration. The discussions highlighted the need for a collective vision, carried by youth and the diaspora, to build a more sovereign, united and strategically integrated Africa. A highlight of the event was the graduation ceremony dedicated to African students who had completed their academic course. This symbolic and solemn ceremony made it possible to highlight the efforts, perseverance and successes of African students in Türkiye. It also served as a reminder of the central role of training, knowledge and human capital in the development of the African continent.
