First Unlimited Poetry Evening: African poetry and arts

The Evening of Poetry Without Borders was a unique cultural event, bringing together African literature, poetic tradition, music and performing arts. Throughout the evening, the rich African poetic heritage was highlighted through both traditional and modern interpretations, offering participants an immersion in the cultural diversity of the continent. The program was enriched with remarkable performances reflecting the African oral literary tradition. Burabumba's Somali poems were particularly appreciated by the public for their rhythmic structure and narrative intensity; lullabies sung in Comorian highlighted themes such as the place of youth in society, the transformative power of education and the preservation of national identity. The exchange of poems from the Tunisian Zajal tradition was one of the most captivating moments of the event, both for its staging and for the oral creativity it sparked. In addition, inspiring words from African leaders, proverbs from the pillars of traditional African wisdom and motivational poems addressed to African youth gave the event an exceptional depth and richness of meaning. The poems recited in Arabic, highlighting the importance of knowledge and teaching, enriched the program with an intellectual perspective by combining academic and cultural dimensions.
