First Evening of Poetry Without Borders

The Evening of Poetry Without Borders was successfully held as a quality cultural event bringing together African literature and the poetic tradition of the continent under one roof. Throughout the event, Africa's plural poetic heritage was showcased through both traditional and contemporary interpretations, offering participants the opportunity to experience in depth the richness of African cultural diversity. The poems declaimed during the program addressed a wide variety of themes, including the importance of knowledge and the role of the teacher, the historical and social memory of Africa, and critical questions such as “Whose fault is it?” », the use of French as a poetic language, love of the homeland, as well as notions of identity and belonging. Furthermore, poems recited in different African languages ​​highlighted the linguistic and cultural diversity of the continent. These works, performed in varied languages and styles, have powerfully reflected the richness and intellectual depth of African literature. The event was organized around the theme “Let’s find ourselves through poetry, let’s dialogue, let’s understand each other; let us revive the national ideal”, highlighting the unifying, reflective and transformative character of poetry. From this perspective, poetry was presented not only as a form of aesthetic expression, but also as an essential vector of social consciousness and the transmission of cultural values. As part of the program, a panel discussion was devoted to fundamental questions such as “What is poetry and what is it not?” », “What are the necessary conditions for poetic writing? » and “What is the place and importance of inspiration in poetry?” ". These exchanges gave rise to rich and interactive debates on the theoretical dimensions of po
