AWB meets African student associations and platforms

On June 3, 2025, Africa Without Borders organized a large-scale meeting at the Bab-I Alem UOD center, bringing together students from the African continent. The main objective of this meeting was to initiate a structured process of cooperation, solidarity and the development of a common program between the different African student unions. After a brief presentation by each president or union representative, AWB officials explained the essential purpose of this initiative: to establish real cohesion between African student unions and to set up a common structure capable of acting collectively under the same institutional framework. The meeting brought together a total of 11 unions from Cameroon, Comoros, Chad, South Africa, Gambia, Guinea, Nigeria, Tunisia, Somalia, Senegal, Uganda, as well as the Bizim Afrika and Platforme de Reflexion sur l'Afrique platforms. The delegates present expressed their satisfaction with this convergence, emphasizing the importance to unite their efforts around a shared objective. The discussions focused on the nature of the program, its applicability and the modalities of sustainable cooperation. Each union presented its expectations and formulated proposals likely to serve the collective interest. At the end of this phase of discussions, the general framework and objectives of the program were clearly communicated to the participants. In accordance with the ideas expressed, it was decided to create a special committee responsible for supervising the implementation, coordination and development of the content of the program. This committee will have the mission of strengthening collaboration between student unions and ensuring the harmonious and sustainable advancement of common initiatives
