African Culture and Flavors: AWB Pic-Nic

The “AWB Pic-Nic” day was one of the most significant moments of the year for Africa Without Borders. Organized in a green and welcoming setting, this activity brought together around a hundred members, supporters and friends of the association around a program rich in entertainment, culture and conviviality. From the first hours, a fraternal atmosphere was established, driven by the enthusiasm of the participants and the diversity of the African communities present. At the heart of this meeting was a series of traditional African games and competitions, inspired by popular practices from different regions of the continent. Races, agility challenges, strategy or body expression games: each activity served to recall the playful and symbolic richness of African heritage. These moments allowed participants to reconnect with their original cultures, while sharing smiles and warm complicity. At the same time, open debates and exchanges took place, allowing various subjects to be addressed such as community life, African youth in Turkey, the challenges of integration and the role of Pan-Africanism in the diaspora. These discussions, conducted in a spirit of respect and listening, strengthened the cohesion of the group and gave additional depth to the day. As for gastronomy, a large barbecue, accompanied by sweets and African dishes, offered a palette of flavors reminiscent of the cuisines of Chad, Mali, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ethiopia and other regions of the continent. This culinary moment helped create a warm atmosphere where everyone could share, discover or rediscover traditional recipes.
